Christina Kinton

Christina Kinton joined the firm in 1987, after receiving her juris doctor degree from Northwestern University School of Law. Ms. Kinton works with a variety of individuals and closely-held businesses. She assists clients in planning and implementing their estate plans, customizing each plan to fit the individual needs and preferences of the client, from simple wills and powers of attorney for some individuals, to planning very complicated estates for extremely wealthy clients.

In connection with estate planning, Ms. Kinton has prepared wills, powers of attorney for health care and for property, living wills, revocable (or “living”) trusts, land trust agreements and deeds, irrevocable life insurance trusts, irrevocable trusts for minors and other beneficiaries, partnerships and limited liability companies, private annuities, and other documents.

Ms. Kinton prepares income, gift and estate tax returns, and private foundation returns; she also organizes and advises private foundations. Families and executors may rely on Ms. Kinton to represent them in the Illinois probate courts, if a probate process is required. In addition, Ms. Kinton is available to assist clients in probate and trust administration. She represents closely-held businesses, reviewing and preparing contracts, leases and other documents, forming entities, and working on business succession plans. She also gives advice to businesses in employment and other matters, and represents clients in their business and investment transactions.

Ms. Kinton honed her writing skills and her analytical abilities while pursuing her journalism degree at the University of Missouri-Columbia, where she was elected to the Mystical Seven senior honorary, and was a member of Alpha Delta Pi.
